Ao Phang Nga National Park

Ao Phang Nga National Park is a marine national park located in Phang Nga Province, Southern Thailand. It is renowned for its stunning scenery of limestone karsts rising dramatically from the sea, combined with lush mangrove forests, creating a highly biodiverse ecosystem. The park covers an area of approximately 400 square kilometers or 250,000 rai, encompassing areas in Takua Thung District, Koh Yao District, and Mueang Phang Nga District.

History and Background

Ao Phang Nga National Park was declared a national park on April 29, 1981, making it the 25th national park of Thailand. Its objectives are to conserve natural resources and marine and coastal ecosystems, as well as to promote ecotourism.
Swimming and Snorkeling: These activities can be enjoyed at some of the sandy beaches.

Activities and Tourism

Boat Tours of Phang Nga Bay: This is a very popular activity. Tourists can rent longtail boats or speedboats to admire the beauty of the islands, caves, and mangrove forests.
Nature Trails/Hiking: There are nature trails for hiking and nature study in some areas.
Relaxing on Ko Yao Yai or Ko Yao Noi: You can relax on the nearby islands of Ko Yao Yai or Ko Yao Noi, which are located close to the national park.
